When it comes to a functional office, keeping files in order is essential. Nobody wants loose pieces of paper or documents lying around, so you need an efficient filing system in place.
Suspension files are ideal for all your filing needs but it’s important to distinguish between the A4 or foolscap size.
Suspension files are designed to be suspended from rails inside of filing cabinets and typically have metal rods or plastic hooks at the top that allow them to be hung on the rails - preventing anything from sliding around. Selecting the right size is important so they fit inside your filing cabinet. There are two main types of suspension files to be aware of.
Foolscap Suspension Files: 387mm x 240mm
These are the most common type of suspension files and are used in most standard office filing cabinets. Foolscap size gives A4 paper more space on either side to avoid papers becoming bent, damaged or disorganised.
A4 Suspension Files: 330mm x 240mm
A4 Suspension Files are slightly smaller than foolscap and are generally used for home office cabinets, metal filing boxes, pedestals and A4 filing cabinets.
Suspension files are an office essential for holding punched documents in place and for keeping loose paperwork and files in order. However, it’s essential to get the right size for your cabinets and drawers. If you need any further assistance please contact us by phone or email.
