Nescafé is a well respected, household name in instant coffee. As well as providing a broad range of instant coffee and sachets, recently, they have launched their range of Barista Coffee Beans. For coffee lovers at home or in the workplace, these are a next step up for making a rich, full bodied brew just like you would get at your favourite cafe.

The shift to whole beans reflects a growing trend for at home baristas and those looking to make long term savings on their coffee spending habits. Although initially a big expense, switching to a coffee machine and beans, rather than spending everyday at your local coffee shop, can make you a lot of savings long term.

We recently were lucky enough to test out the Nescafé Barista Signature Blend Coffee Beans. We put the beans through their paces and made lattes, cappuccinos and americanos for the team. It’s safe to say, this was a roaring success. But if you’re still on the fence about switching to Nescafé coffee beans, keep reading.

What’s New About These Beans?

For many workplaces and homes, Nescafé remains a go to coffee brand. With a huge range of instant coffee and sachets, they already give consumers the experience of great tasting barista style coffee, without the added faff of a machine or dialling in espresso. But Nescafé are also aware of the growing trend of at home barista’s and the surge in popularity of bean to cup coffee machines.

Nescafé coffee beans are aimed at coffee lovers who want to elevate their beverage experience. Whether you’re an at home coffee lover, or looking to make your coffee offerings extra special in the workplace for visitors, staff or guests, Nescafé coffee beans are a great place to start.

The whole bean format means they can be ground in a separate grinder or in a built bean to cup machine. Although we firstly tested these with a bean to cup coffee machine using a separate grinder, we also tested the coffee grinds in a stovetop moka pot, which also worked very well.

So however you like to make your coffee, these beans will be an upgrade. You don’t have to have a bean to cup machine to reap the benefits, as you can grind up the beans and use them in cafetiere’s and moka pots, depending on your preference.

Our First Impressions on Nescafé Coffee Beans

First of all, the packaging is elite. It’s really important to have sturdy packaging when it comes to beans as they are so sensitive to changes in the air. The sturdy packaging means you can easily re-seal the bag once opened, to keep your beans fresh for weeks to come.

Immediately when you open the bag, you’re greeted by the smooth and nutty aroma, which importantly, isn’t too overpowering. We tested the Signature Blend, which has a strength of 7, opposed to the Espresso Blend Coffee Beans which have a strength of 8.

But as soon as you open the bag, you’ll want to make a cup of coffee as soon as possible. Which is exactly what we did.

Using a De'Longhi machine, we dialled in the coffee and were greeted with a rich, full bodied espresso with a generous amount of crema. The espresso itself was rich without being bitter which made the perfect base for our barista drinks.

We experimented with cappuccinos, lattes and americanos to make sure we put the Nescafé beans through their paces. It’s safe to say, everybody was very happy with the quality of their coffee. We would describe the roast level as medium, but it has a very smooth and nutty flavour to appeal to many different coffee lovers.

Whether you drink your coffee black, or love it paired with smooth latte milk, Nescafé coffee beans can help you make the perfect beverage. We were so impressed with how smooth the espresso was and can definitely see it appealing to a broad range of coffee lovers.

Coffee Beans in the Workplace

We understand how many businesses won’t have the budget for coffee beans in the workplace, but if you do, it may well be worth the investment. If you have a lot of visitors and in person meetings, offering guests a barista coffee creates a lasting impression. There are many easy to use bean to cup machines that don’t come with a huge price tag, and you don’t have to be a barista trained to create a delicious drink. It just takes a little practice and patience to get there.

Nescafé coffee beans will give you the consistency across multiple cups to create great tasting coffee, while bringing the cafe experience into your workplace without actually having to do the coffee run. Although a luxury, switching to coffee beans might well be worth the effort and initial expense.

Are Nescafé Beans Worth Trying?

In short, absolutely. Any coffee lover will appreciate the elevated taste of a bean to cup made coffee, using Nescafé Beans. Although it’s easy to go for the quick fix of instant coffee, sometimes taking those extra few minutes to make a barista style coffee can make all the difference.

Easy to work with, easy to store and a roast that is applicable to every taste, we would definitely recommend giving these beans a go. Be warned, as once you move over to beans, you probably won’t go back.

We also stock a wide range of instant coffee and sachets from Nescafé if you’re not feeling quite brave enough to try the beans.
