It works due to the thermo-sensitive ink that turns clear once enough heat is generated so when rubbed the line is erased and ready to write over again. This now you see it, now you dont magic behind the pen should make mastering handwriting more fun. Please note that erased lines may reappear at temperatures below -18C.

Its also amazing for precise essay writing and final drafts but obviously not suitable for legal documents.
