Sony Super DLTtape I media keeps your backup windows small with 32 Megabytes per second compressed transfer speed (16 MB/sec native) using SDLT 320 drives. Performance with SDLT 220 drives is 22 MB/sec compressed, 16 MB/sec native. Magneto-Resistive Cluster Heads deliver higher data density, higher storage capacityLaser Guided Magnetic Recording (LGMR) also increases capacity. It uses optical tracking on the back side of the tape, leaving the entire front side available for dataPivoting Optical Servo (POS) provides the accurate tracking crucial for reading high density data
