The Philip Harris Component Tester can be used to safely and quickly produce current and voltage characteristic curves for a number of electrical components. It requires a 12V dc Smoothed or Regulated Power Supply to operate (B8R08174 or similar).The Component Tester limits the input voltage and current to safe values that will not damage any of the components and produces excellent results every time with minimal set up time required.External components are connected to the board and the Component Tester has input connections for a Voltmeter (10mV resolution) and Ammeter (1mA resolution) from which to take measurements. The potentiometer allows both positive and negative voltage to be applied. Voltage and Current values taken can then be plotted onto a graph.This simple to use piece of equipment is excellent for student investigations around the current and voltage characteristics of a large range of circuit components.The Philip Harris Component Tester is ideal for use with the Philip Harris Puzzle Box (B8R07107) or the Philip Harris Component Investigations Board (B8R07106) which each provide a selection of components ready to test.Typical IV Graphs produced using the Philip Harris Component Tester and The Philip Harris Component Investigations Board can be found in the Documents Section.
