Safety-first-aid Detectable Blue Plasters
Detectable blue plasters differ from standard ones as they use adhesive dressings suited to food handling environments. This ensures minor wounds are covered up to prevent contamination. Using blue plasters is required in many food industry settings under HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) regulations. The bright blue colour is chosen deliberately to be highly visible and unlikely to be confused with food, making them easy to detect if they fall off. Most detectable blue plasters also contain a metal strip beneath the bound pad, allowing them to be found in food processing lines.
