More About Stabilo

Stabilo was founded in Germany, in 1855. Initially, it was part of the Schwanhäußer family business in Nuremberg, making pens under the brand Grossberger & Kurz Bleistiftfabrik. The company received the swan logo we recognise today when it evolved into Schwan-STABILO.

In 1925, Stabilo unveiled its first eyebrow pencil which was its first foray into the cosmetic industry. But by the end of the twentieth century, the brand had firmly established itself within the stationery world as a leading pen manufacturer. Today, Stabilo Boss original highlighters are some of the most popular writing instruments used throughout the world.

Stabilo Boss Highlighters were launched in 1971, and at the time, were considered nothing short of revolutionary due to their design and colour. Today, other popular ranges include STABILO point 88 fineliners, STABILO Pen 68 fibre-tip pens and Stabilo Handwriting Perns for children who are learning how to write.
