The Parker Pen Company was founded in 1888 by George Safford Parker in Wisconsin, USA. A former telegraphy teacher and pen salesman, Parker was frustrated by the poor quality of pens available and so began to develop his own.

George Parker’s first patent came in 1889, which was soon followed by the “Lucky Curve” system in 1894, which helped reduce ink leakage, a major breakthrough at the time. Parker would then introduce different models and propel the brand.
