Seriously good crisps and spuds. Fairfields Farm sits in the heart of the Essex countryside, just outside of Colchester. The family has been farming across East Anglia for generations, and today their fields in the Colne Valley are home to the potatoes that become delicious, hand cooked, flavour packed crisps. While the family have been farming for decades, Fairfields Crisps have been crafted on the farm since 2006.
Proud of their heritage, Fairfields Farm stands apart in the snacking world as an independent, family run producer rather than being part of a large corporation. Every bag of crisps reflects the care, attention and love that comes from growing and making everything themselves. This independence also gives them complete control over how they operate, from farming practices to production. Sustainability also sits at the heart of the business. Fairfields Farm is now proudly carbon neutral, with most of their offsetting work carried out on the farm itself. Their next big milestone is to reach net zero by 2033, a goal they’re actively working towards through ongoing environmental improvements.

Fairfields Farm plant their potatoes each spring and nourish them with digestate, a natural fertiliser produced on site through the anaerobic digestion of maize and rye grown on the farm. The crops are then watered using the farm’s own reservoirs, creating a fully closed loop system that supports both sustainability and quality from the very start.
Fairfields is deeply committed to caring for the environment, a responsibility that comes naturally to a small, family run farm. They provide food for birds throughout the winter and dedicate over 5% of their land to creating habitats where wildlife can flourish. Across the farm, they regularly plant new trees and hedgerows and take active steps to support biodiversity in every season.
