Andrex A household name that barely needs an introduction, Andrex have been making toilet paper since 1942 to help power homes, workplaces and schools worldwide. A British brand now owned by the American company, Kimberley-Clark, it's known for its "Puppy" mascot, a Labrador, that appears in Andrex advertisements and packaging.

Andrex was first produced at St Andrew's Mill in Walthamstow, which is where it gets its iconic name from. Today, Andrex is manufactured in Northfleet, with factories in Flint and Barrow-in-Furness. Andrex was the first 2-ply toilet tissue in the world and today, is committed to reducing its environmental impact.

Sustainability All dry toilet rolls are manufactured in the UK from FSC certified and controlled sources. All Andrex packaging now uses at least 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials and all manufacturing facilities are powered with almost 80% renewable electricity.

More About Andrex

The History of Andrex

Andrex was first produced in 1942, from St Andrew's Mill in Walthamstow. Originally, it was designed as a disposable handkerchief, sold in Harrods department store. It wasn't long before the brand enjoyed global recognition, with Hollywood stars endorsing it in 1961, which marks the beginning of Andrex becoming a globally recognised brand.

The Andrex Puppy which we all know and love today, didn't hit the screens until 1972, when the first Andrex advert was aired on television. Since then, it has become one of the most well known advertising campaigns in the country. Andrex continued to develop new products into the twentieth century, leading the way for kinder skin ingredients using Aloe Vera and Vitamin E.

Today, Andrex makes a notable commitment to sustainability efforts as all dry toilet rolls are FSC certified and controlled sources. The launch of the Andrex Mega Roll in 2022 provided the same great quality toilet paper, with each roll being 50% longer.
