Envelopes are an integral part of any office and they’re of great importance when it comes to packaging of flat objects like important letters or any official documents. The most common envelope sizes are C4 (A4), C5 (A5) and DL (A4 sheet or paper folded into 3 equal sections). There are also many types of sealing on our envelopes, these include peel and seal, gummed and self seal envelopes- gummed envelopes require moisture in order to seal them, and if you don\'t fancy licking hundreds of envelopes, you could purchase a handy flap moistener to do the job for you.

"Can you order some white DL Windows please?" Of course you can, all you need is a white DL Envelope (A4 folded into 3), with a window.

"I really need some Manilla C4\'s" All you are looking for is a A4 (C4) Envelope that is brown rather than white.

"Can you get me some C5 Windows White envelopes please?" I\'m sure you can work this one out now. You\'re looking for an A5 (C5) Envelope white and has a window.

Types of Envelopes

Windowed envelopes
A windowed envelope is an envelope with a plastic window in it. The plastic in these creates problems in paper recycling. Consumers who don\'t want to go through the trouble of ripping out the plastic window should put the envelope in a rubbish bag after use. 

Security envelopes
These have special tamper-resistant and tamper-evident features. They are used for high value products and documents as well as for evidence for legal proceedings.

Mailers
Mailers are available for full size documents. The Postal Service and Express mail carriers have large mailing envelopes for their express services. Others which are similar are available at office stationery at very reasonable prices.

These mailers usually have an opening on an end with a flap that can be attached by gummed adhesive, integral pressure-sensitive adhesive or adhesive tape. Mailers are usually constructed by:
• Paperboard
• Corrugated fiberboard
• Polyethylene, often a coextrusion
• Nonwoven fabric

Envelope Types

There are many envelope types we have to offer here at Office Stationery. The following table provides information on the suggested uses for different envelope types.

Board BackedPhotographs and Certificates
Heavy duty paper in a range of sizes, the rigid board keeps important documents safe. These envelopes are available in white or Manilla (brown). The front of the envelope has a printed message "Please Do Not Bend".
GussetHeavy and Bulky items
These envelopes are available in both white and Manilla (brown) and extend to fit bulky items.
PaddedBubble-lined bags protecting bulky and heavy, Postal packs ideal for books.
These envelopes are available in both white and Manilla (brown) and extend to fit buly items.
PolytheneBrochures, general mailings, ebay fulfilment.
Polythene envelopes and bags are available in many sizes and configurations. The manufacturer claims these envelopes are lighter and stronger than conventional paper envelopes thus saving money on postage costs. Think about the post you receive in your office and home, many of the catalogue companies use these clear polythene envelopes or bags.
RecycledGeneral office mailings
We offer 100%, over 50% and upto 50% recycled envelopes.
Also some of non recycled envelopes also have an environmental benefit accreditation. Which has been recognised for it's low environmental impact. This could mean:
Reduced emissions during manufacture,
Limited energy consumption during manufacture,
The use of recycled or virgin fibres from substainably managed forests.
TyvekFor items that need to be highly secure
We have a range of envelopes made in Tyvek material. This is a unique material with unsurpassable strength. These envelopes are water, burst, tear and puncture resistant which means products arrive in pristine condition. Tyvek is ultra light, only a third of the weight of equivalent paper products, which means lower postage costs. Survivor /Tyvek envelopes have a peel and seal closure which ensures the contents remain secure.

Types of Seal

Gummed - Moisten adhesive flap and press to seal.

Press Seal - Simply fold against back of envelope and press to seal.

Peel & Seal - Remove strip to reveal adhesive and press against the back of the envelope to seal.

All envelopes are compatible with Litho and Inkjet Printers. Only non-press and non-window envelopes are compatible with Laser printers. the heat processing in Laser printing is nto suitable for Press Seal, latex gum or window film.
