Types of Envelopes
Windowed envelopes
A windowed envelope is an envelope with a plastic window in it. The plastic in these creates problems in paper recycling. Consumers who don\\'t want to go through the trouble of ripping out the plastic window should put the envelope in a rubbish bag after use.
Security envelopes
These have special tamper-resistant and tamper-evident features. They are used for high value products and documents as well as for evidence for legal proceedings.
Mailers
Mailers are available for full size documents. The Postal Service and Express mail carriers have large mailing envelopes for their express services. Others which are similar are available at office stationery at very reasonable prices.
These mailers usually have an opening on an end with a flap that can be attached by gummed adhesive, integral pressure-sensitive adhesive or adhesive tape. Mailers are usually constructed by:
